Pearl
Normally, when I experience VR, one thing that frequently happens is a loss of judgment regarding the space and distance. I didn’t feel that when experiencing Pearl.
The clever technique Pearl used was to create a moving environment and constrain the FOV within the vehicle itself to express the feel of motion and dimension through the VR. The space inside the vehicle serves as a benchmark for distance, helping the viewer establish the scale of the world within the VR. The moving scene outside the vehicle, alongside the light transactions, emphasizes the presence of space.
Pearl’s visual comes with a solid foreground made up of the objects within the vehicle; the car windows serve as transparent midground, and the vigorously moving environments outside the vehicle form the background.
