Create a virtual garment using “unconventional” materials

I started with building up the full body mesh and adding try-on sweater and leggings into the scene.

After finishing up the mesh and the cloth profile, I went into the asset library and searched for “unconventional” materials.

The Gem Material was cool, but it seemed to work only with gem rendering. There were lace, denim, and leather, they all worked just fine, but as solid materials, it just showed a huge solid pattern over the mesh, and the look was not good.

Then I started to focus more on the transparent materials, and I found water and fire, they provided a hologram effect, which is cool but could be too strong. I want something natural. Like blinking or sparkling effects.

Then I found the sparkles as a material.

And after customizing the particles’ sizes and intensities, it looked wonderful on the model.
